It is always uncomfortable to keep asking yourself if you remembered to turn off your computer or if it is still running. Shutting it down remotely is not such a good idea because it involves too many parameters. A better idea is to schedule a shutdown. With Shutdown Manager and Tools you can set your computer to automatically turn off, go to sleep mode and more, all according to a timetable of your choosing.

You can swiftly download the 2 and a half Mb package and install it just as fast. The setup wizard will not slow you down with any additional settings or tools, so you can have it running on your computer even if you are in a hurry.

There are five different tabs you can access on the interface, each one with its own shutdown related functions. Under the timer tab, you can enable a countdown timer which will shut down, restart, hibernate or lock the computer, set it to standby, log off the current user and so on. You can also set it to perform one of these tasks at a certain hour. Once you have set the time, just click one of the buttons from the right side of the window.

The tab labeled "Automatic" features a list where you can add shutdown schedules. Right clicking on the list and choosing "Add" will bring up a window where you can select a power off option or a different task such as running a program, closing a program, and more. After selecting an action, you can set its recurrence by selecting a day of the week, or directly choosing options for all, even for odd days. When everything is in order, click the OK button and a new entry will appear in the tasks list. To activate it, click the check box next to it and then the Enable button from the toolbar.

Under the Emergency tab you will find only one, large button. This is for performing an emergency shutdown which will turn off your computer, regardless of what programs your system is running. Any unsaved information will be lost, but if you need to turn off your computer in a hurry, this will help. The Power tab will not be of much use to you, unless you're using a laptop. Besides a power meter, you can find a few options for setting a low power level and an action to be performed in case your laptop reaches that level.

Aside from the power off options, you can find some extra tools for taking screenshots, measuring your screen, disabling the task bar, start menu and certain keyboard shortcuts. You can access any of these tools by using their designated buttons from the toolbar.

Pros

The program offers some good power off features. Setting up a shutdown schedule is an easy to understand process, so you won't get stuck while doing this.

Cons

A more up to date look could improve the interface configuration. You can rest easy if you forget to turn off your computer. Using Shutdown Manager and Tools, you can set automatic shutdown schedules so the computer will turn itself off when you are not around.
